Kellie Martin is she is an American actor and director of films, is popularly known for her roles as Christy Huddleston in the period drama 'Christy", Rebecca Thatcher on the family drama Life Goes On> and Lucy Knight for the medical drama ER. Other notable roles include the lead role in the Hailey Dean Mystery series. Martin was the daughter of a department shop buyer and an elementary school teacher. The actress began her acting career in the age of seven when her Aunt, who was an nanny for Michael Landon's family, helped Martin get a part as an actor on the TV show Father Murphy. After she graduated from Yale University in 1982, Martin began to take her acting profession more serious. She was able to land important roles on TV as well as on the big screen. Martin is a professional actress in addition to a gifted dancer and photographer, has been in the business for the past twenty years. Two-time mother, she is the national spokesperson for Lupus and is constantly informing people about the illness after her sister passed away from it at just 19.
